The photos below highlight how the piece “Wave” was constructed for the Arts in Foggy Bottom Outdoor Sculpture Biennial in 2016. I used a stoneware clay body. Most of the pieces were handbuilt using coils and slabs, some are partially thrown on a wheel. After creating the pieces, I let them dry out completely before firing them in a bisque kiln to 1750° F. Afterwards the pieces were glazed and fired to 2400° F in both reduction and soda kilns.
